GIS is used in many different areas of our campus, from administrative units to research centers and academic departments, across a wide range of disciplines. The GIS community consists of staff, faculty, undergraduates, and graduate students- from novice to expert. It’s many faces are commercial and open source software, desktop and web tools and those in between, and vector and raster data of all kinds. GIS-related campus resources are linked at right, and include information on education and curriculum, research, facilities, and more.

The University of Kansas (KU) is an institutional member of the University Consortium for Geographic Information Science (UCGIS).
